Newport Way Reopens After Robbery Search

BELLEVUE, WA — A search for suspects in a robbery briefly closed off a stretch of Newport Way Southeast on Wednesday afternoon, and police notified nearby schools to take precautions while police activity continued in the area.

The Bellevue Police Department said officers were deployed to Newport Way around 2:30 p.m., with police blocking off the road between Allen Road and 142nd Place Southeast. Police confirmed the search concluded just before 3 p.m., allowing the road to fully reopen and regular activity to resume.

A full investigation into the initial robbery is ongoing and more details will be shared as available.
