Two WA Restaurants Rank Among Nation’s ‘Most Romantic’

SEATTLE — Just in time for Valentine’s Day, two Seattle restaurants recently ranked among the nation’s most romantic places for a night out. The online reservation service OpenTable unveiled its “100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America” list this week, after analyzing millions of reviews across 33 states.

The report assigned overall scores by taking into account each restaurant’s rating and amount of reviews on OpenTable then narrowed them down only to those also marked as romantic spots. While the top 100 is listed alphabetically, rather than ranked, California secured the bragging rights with 11 restaurants making the list, followed by Ohio and Georgia with seven restaurants each.

OpenTable found steakhouses were the most popular for a romantic date night, making up 37 percent of the restaurants, followed by Italian, seafood and “contemporary American” cuisines. In Washington, Italian reigned supreme.

The Pink Door, a beloved Italian eatery at Pike Place Market, claimed a spot in the top 100, with an average of 4.9 stars out of more than 6,100 reviews. Il Terrazzo Carmine, an upscale classic Italian restaurant in Pioneer Square, rounded out Washington’s representation in the rankings, averaging 4.8 stars out of more than 2,800 reviews.

OpenTable also teamed up with YouGov to get a feel for people’s Valentine’s Day plans this year, and the survey found restaurant reservations for the holiday were up more than 30 percent compared to 2021.
