Bulldogs Fall In Final Minutes at Olympic

Maui Sze

In a battle of two of the top North Region teams last night, host Olympic College took down top-ranked Bellevue by a score of 93-85. The Bulldogs fell victim in the final minutes as Olympic’s Aundree Polk nailed two three-pointers with 1:27 to go to maintain Olympic’s lead from 85-83 to 91-85 with :25 to go in the second half. BC could not find net on three critical possessions near the 2:00 mark which allowed Polk and the Rangers to seize control of the game.

BC stayed close in the first half, down by a bucket at 49-47 partly due to their efficiency at the line as the Bulldogs made 12-of-15 and were led by Maui Sze who was a perfect 7-for-7 from the line with a team high four assists in the half. Sze would end the night leading the ‘dogs with 19 points and 10 assists. Griffin Barker had a solid game for Bellevue on 5-for-10 shooting and added 13 points and 9 rebounds.

Bellevue, since earning the NWAC’s top-ranking, has dropped three in a row and will try to snap their losing skid this Wednesday in a critical matchup hosting Peninsula, who is one game ahead of Bellevue in North Region play. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
