Women’s Soccer Blanked By Pierce

In a game that Bellevue College women’s soccer had hoped to be a revenge match, the results unfortunately did not produce as Pierce College defeated Bellevue 2-0 today. Earlier this season, Pierce scored two unanswered goals in the final minutes to steal a win from the Bulldogs. Bellevue came out hungry today but could not control possession on their side of the field as Pierce dominated from the beginning, scoring twice in the first 20 minutes of the match.

Down 2-0 early, Pierce continued control of the ball as Bellevue was blanked offensively in the first half, getting off zero shots.

In the second half, Pierce’s dominance offensively was not as strong, but was able to limit BC to only three shots on goal. The Raiders tacked on a third goal at the 87:11 mark to put the game out of reach. Bellevue keeper Celia LaGuardia was busy all day. Although three goals were surrendered LaGuardia had seven saves on the day as well in the box.

Bellevue falls to 4-3-1 in West Region play (5-6-2 overall) and will travel to Longview to take on Lower Columbia this Wednesday October 13 at 4:00 p.m.
